Freshman Focus is a part of our Applied Arts Department.  This is a required class for incoming Freshman and taught by the enthusiastic Mr. Bone.  It is a nine week course that includes activities to orient Freshman to high school level academics and curriculum choices.  It will also help students set a career goal and build their portfolios.

Through Career Preparation this class is given many directions.  Students spend computer lab time in MOIS and Bridges CX_Online to help with their career exploration.

Students visit The Lapeer County Education and Technical Center, where they learn about many different career choices.

There is a visit to Covenant Hills.  This is a facility that helps students with leadership and team work.  Covenant Hills has a wonderful staff that makes our students feel welcome.  This experience is taught by our own Leadership Class to our Freshman Focus students.

Over the nine weeks of each Freshman Focus class there are many speakers or fieldtrips.

During this class we are hoping to touch each student with a spark that will excite them into thinking about their future and what they want to do next.
