Career Day
Career Day 2003/2004 was a great success. We had several presenters from different career pathways. Many specialty rooms were offered to give students some hands-on experience and guidance. All of our students were given the opportunity to see and hear from people with similar interests and goals.
During Career Day, The Lapeer County Education and Technical Center presented in 3 rooms to all of the Sophmore class. Instructors and current students spoke to 10th graders about the facility adn what it has to offer. At the end of a students 10th grade year they must decide whether Ed-tech is right for them. It is a very extensive application process. Each high school in the county is given so many slots for each class at the center. Students have to show why they should be chosen. This day was a great way to get the students to start thinking about their choices.

A Resume Workshop was made available to the students during Career Day. Tanya Primeau, was the instructor for this class. Students were given worksheets and information about how to best develop and present a resume.
Every year we offer an Internet Scholarship Search during Career Day. Carolyn Medland, counselor and Karen Tetzlaff, computer instructor, put together a wonderful package for these students to learn from. Students learn how to find what scholarships are available to them over the internet and what some of the requirements are to obtain them.
I would like to say Thank You to all of the people that helped make Career Day a GREAT success. Career Day is made possible every year because of a group of students that volunteer to organize this event. This years Career Cay Committee Members were:
